Juan Manuel Lopez scored a TKO win after nine rounds over Gerry Penalosa in the main event of a card at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, Puerto Rico on Saturday night.

It was actually Penalosa's coach Freddie Roach who stopped the fight being true to his word to the 36-year-old veteran that he needs to knock out JuanMa in the ninth or he will stop the fight.

Hats off to Penalosa - he can't be labeled the loser on this night. He is still ready, willing and able but the JuanMa was just younger and stronger.

Congratulations to the marvelous JuanMa. Congratulations to the courageous veteran Penalosa as well.
