Pinoy Power 2 Boxing Night Doubleheader

Nonito Donaire’s aim is to be a multi-division champ like Manny Pacquiao and his fight against Panama’s Rafael Concepcion in Saturday will be the start of his hope for a great journey in boxing.

Dubbed as Pinoy Power 2, the current IBF and IBO flyweight champion will fight for the WBA interim super-flyweight title against the same guy who defeated fellow Filipino AJ “Bazooka” Banal and who gave Jorge “El Travieso” Arce one tough fight.

The “Filipino Flash” (21-1, 14 KOs) will face Rafael “El Torito” Concepcion (13-3-1, 8 KOs) at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Donaire started his reign at 112 (lbs.) with a spectacular fifth-round KO of Vic Darchinyan and defending the title three times, the last via a fourth-round demolition of Raul Martinez at the Araneta Coliseum. Considered as one of the 10 best fighters in the world and one of the best fighters that has ever come from the Philippines, he is starting to get his own spotlight.

It will be Donaire’s speed and power versus Concepcion’s fighting heart as the both will slug it out at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas this Saturday, August 15 on Top Rank PPV.

Dubbed as Pinoy Power 2, fighting in the undercard of the Donaire-Concepcion bout is Filipino prospect Bernabe Concepcion as he vies for the WBO featherweight title of Steven Luevano.
